Spring Road Restrictions Have Been Lifted (update: 04/20/26)

Road restrictions have been lifted as of April 20th, 2026.

With the exception of Railway Street West, Loretto's city streets are posted at a maximum of 4-ton per axle weight limit. Railway Street West has a maximum of 9-ton per axle weight limit.

The following vehicles are exempt:  Milk trucks, farm feed vehicles, school buses, recycling and garbage trucks.

Overweight vehicle permits allowing up to 6-ton per axle weight limit may be granted on a case-by-case basis.

Any person not holding a valid permit, who violates a posted load restriction, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to the penalty established by MN Statute 609.02 as amended, together with a civil penalty payable directly to the City, equal to the value of the damages caused by such violation.
